Professional Bio

Daniel Redgate is the Water Resources Program Manager in the Environmental Division of the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT). In this position, he is responsible for implementing VDOT’s water quality regulatory permitting program, establishing statewide policies and practices regarding federal and state jurisdictional waters, and serving as a liaison to federal, state and local agencies. Prior to joining VDOT in 2013, Dan was an environmental consultant for 17 years, working in wetland mitigation bank development, stream and wetland restoration, GIS/GPS remote data collection and analysis, permitting, and jurisdictional waters determinations. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the Pennsylvania State University and a Master of Science degree from the College of William and Mary’s College of Marine Science/Virginia Institute of Marine Science.
