Objective

The VTCA Lobby Day aims to advocate for the interests of our industry and promote policies that support safety, and sustainability. By engaging with policymakers, we strive to influence legislation and regulations that impact our members positively. 

Note: Please adhere to all lobbying regulations and guidelines during the lobby day activities. Dress professionally and respectfully and maintain a constructive and positive demeanor during interactions with policymakers and their staff.

Cost

This event is free to all members, but members must log in and register for the event to ensure they receive materials on the day of the event.

Agenda

8:00 AM - 8:30 AM: Registration - 7th Floor House North Meeting Room  

8:30: Welcome remarks from the legislators: Delegate Terry Austin (R-Buchannon), Delegate Betsy Carr (D-Richmond). Distribution of lobby day materials including talking points, fact sheets, and schedules. 

9:00 AM - 10:00 AM: Transportation Committee 

10:00 AM - 12:00 PM: Policy Briefings and Training and Visits with Legislators

    • Sustainability Transportation Funding 

    • Safety Needs in Work Zones 

    • QBS / Alternative Delivery Procurement 

    • Aggregate Needs 

    • Mandated Project Labor Agreements 

12:00 PM - 1:00 PM: Networking Lunch in Cafeteria 

1:00 PM: Optional General Laws Committee
