Recent Revisions to VDOT’s Manual of the Structure and Bridge Division

VDOT just announced a number of major revisions to the Manual of the Structure and Bridge Division.  The revisions were released through a series of memoranda that were distributed to “Holders of the Manual”.  The “parts” of the manual receiving updates included the Preface, Design Guidelines, General Standards, and Prestressed Concrete Adjacent Member Standards.  The specific changes are highlighted within the various parts dated November 1, 2024, and can be found at the public-facing website for The Manual. 

Modifications to AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications and Guide Specifications for the Design of Pedestrian Bridges were also released on November 8 through IIM-S&B-80 (will be posted soon at VDOT S&B).
