On August 16, U.S. Silica, VA Energy and VTCA honored four individual miners for achieving safety milestones without lost time accidents. VA Energy was able to join U.S. Silica in Montpelier, VA for a celebratory luncheon. Receiving the awards were:

• Wayne Boyce – Lab Tech – 15 Years w/o lost time accident
• Henry Cox – Maintenance Mechanic – 20 Years w/o lost time accident
• Ronald Knighton – Plant Manager – 36 Years w/o lost time accident
• Charles Willis – Maintainance Leadman – 38 Years w/o lost time accident
